October 2nd Food Diary

Net calories – 1130

Last midterm of the week! It was 90 degrees, which for me, is soul-crushingly hot; I have a bad tendency to just melt and feel like I’m dying when it’s at all hot. Solution: drank a lot of iced tea. Though I had to walk .8 miles between classes to get to my midterm, without any shade, and only 10 minutes to get there. So that was fun.

I finally had oatmeal for the first time in awhile–I was avoiding it due to my aversion for grains, but after reminding myself of how nutrient-packed it is, I made a conscious effort to start including it again. So I whipped up a jar of chia seed oatmeal with pumpkin, chocolate protein powder, and a bit of espresso powder to scarf down right before the exam. Yum!

Then, for dinner, I celebrated with… another variation of pizza. I’m determined to use up this jar of marinara in time for its “use within 5 days” suggestion. I have a bad habit of opening something like that, and then getting bored with it and forgetting about it til it goes bad and I’ve wasted $4 worth of perfectly good food. So it’s going to be veggie “pizza” and spaghetti squash pasta for awhile!
