Day 34 Food Diary (9/30)

Net calories – 1190

My back was sore all day, and I had to spend most of it studying for midterms. At night I went to a sort of reunion dinner with people from my highschool who also ended up at my university. I was so proud of my food choices: the original plan was to get Indian food, but they changed it to a sports bar last second where most of the menu consisted of burgers, fries, quesadillas, and other deliciously greasy food. But I chose a tofu salad! Unfortunately it was bigger than I ever could have imagined and salt-laden, but it was definitely the best thing I could have chosen.

Also, I came up with a way to satisfy my cravings for greasy, pizza-like food with bread and all. Even though I avoid processed/frozen foods 99% of the time,  I caved and got lean pockets to tide me through those cravings. Unfortunately, the only lean pockets I can eat (vegetarian ones) are dry and pretty unappetizing on their own. But, I got smart about it: I microwaved it as instructed, sliced open the top, and stuffed it with smoked cheddar and veggie sausages. Then I topped it with low cal mozzarella and goat cheese. It ended up being just like pizza, but tasted a bit more gourmet and was much higher protein! Granted it was about ~400 calories, but it was better than me getting a pizza at a fast food place, since I knew exactly what was in this one nutrition-wise.

Food Diary

Breakfast:

  • Protein pancake: 220

Lunch:

  • Lean pocket with cheese and veggie sausages: 400
  • Truffle bar: 100

Dinner:

  • Salad with vermicelli noodles, sesame vinaigrette, and tons of tofu: 575 (?)

Snacks:

  • Tea: 80
  • Pumpkin soy latte: 150

Post-workout

Total: 1520 |      Exercise: 330

Net: 1190

Protein: 92g
