Wedding Part 3: Day 20 Food Diary (6/28)

This was the day of the wedding–2 weddings, actually, because we had a Vietnamese tea ceremony (during which they are officially married in their culture) followed by the Catholic wedding. Although us bridesmaids were too busy getting everything ready to eat breakfast (besides my glass of soymilk and square of dark chocolate), we ended up more than making up for it between weddings at the buffet-style lunch filled with delicious rice rolls, lemon custards, and mango sticky rice.

Both ceremonies went beautifully, and the reception was even better. The vegetarian option they had was just amazing: eggplant Parmesan, mushroom risotto, and garlic mashed potatoes. I also ended up having champagne, rosé, long island iced tea, and a bit of my boyfriend’s rum and coke–all those alcohol calories and I didn’t even get tipsy! (It’s hard being Irish…)

It sure was a feast day! I haven’t eaten that much in one day in years… and I hope to avoid doing so again any time soon.
